It’s great to see the recent trend towards children being given fancy dress costumes as presents nowadays. I think this is partly due to the fact that the range of kids fancy dress costumes is so extensive nowadays. There are literally thousands of costumes to choose from, and hundreds of different themes and topics as well. We have also benefitted from the fact that the cost of buying costumes has fallen considerably over the last decade, driven mainly by the import of cheaper foreign goods.
My own kids are massive fans of the Disney range of costumes. My boy loves his Woody costume and my daughter is just potty about her Hermione Granger costume. They just love to put on their costumes and then sit down and watch their ‘character’ in their respective movies. Of course they also jump up and do their very best impressions of these characters too. I have to say, if you are stuck for an idea of what to get your kids for birthday you could do a lot worse than buying them a costume or two!
